Dealing with human waste is one of the biggest public health issues facing the world today.

It’s a problem that needs to be tackled and this is one of our most important programmes in highlighting the issue and its possible solutions.

We think of this as waste material, this is not waste material.

One wastewater facility in Oregon is using an innovative process that is not only helping to reduce environmental pollution, but also providing a sustainable source of nutrients for agriculture.

Ostara Nutrient Recovery Technology is “able to recover the phosphorus from these waters in a crystalline form, turning that phosphorus into a highly valuable, slow-release phosphate fertilizer,” says Ostara’s Phillip Abrary, President & CEO.
